Once upon a time, there was a beautiful Samurai ladies...

They are refined by Martial art

Takeda-ryu Yabusame

She looks so nice in pink formal attire.

Chokugen-ryu

Chokugen-ryu Oo Nginata is a old school, using most longest Naginata in Japan.
That is called Benkei's Naginata. If it's true, it's continuing for more than 800 years !
Benkei lived in 12th century. Actually, it is said that Benkei has had 7 weapons and Naginata is his favorite. So that huge Naginata reminds people a Benkei's image.
Then women who armed with Naginata reminds Tomoe or Shizuka. They also lived 12th century, Heian-era in Japan and they are very good at Naginata, too. Shizuka's husband Minamoto Yoshitune is Benkei's master, and Tomoe's husband is Minamoto Yoshinaka. Minamoto clan is one of origin of  Samurai.

Chokugen-ryu is different from other Naginata schools. It needs special skill to use long and heavy Naginata.

She is also good at Onoha Itto-ryu.

Shinkage-ryu girls

Uranami perhaps. They have performed Empi there.

Empi or Ukihune.

Uranami

Very young girls performing Empi of Shinkage-ryu. They looks middle teen age.
Performing very beautiful, it's faithful to Basics. The girls has a great future.

This is same school's young ladies. Showing Ni-no-kiri (Zanshin) from Itto-ryodan.
How beautiful ! Perfect !
Basics makes them up perfect figure of Shinkage-ryu.
I am a great fan of her who wearing white.

Lower Ai-Siegan. Kissaki 3 sun.
This distance, range is the limits of safety. One more step, dead or alive.
See result below.
White Uchi-dachi steps into the range. She has lost her Kote.
Blue Shi-dachi has been waiting for Uchi-dachi's attack to intercept.

I'm looking forward to see them again next year.

November 3rd

An annual event on November 3rd

Japan's Nov 3rd is Meiji Emperor Mutsuhito's birthday. It is a public holiday.
We dedicate martial arts to Meiji the Great in the Meiji-Jingu.

Early to place.

An opening ceremony.

Takeda-ryu Jingai Jutsu is the first,  necessarily. Its sound reminds Sengoku-Era.

Takeda-ryu Yabusame.

They are enjoying to meet Samurai.

We must to see it.
TSKSR

五津之太刀

五津之長刀
Too much fast ? They are not only fast. They are faithful to Basics.

MJER

Shin (or Jin) Musou Hayashizaki-ryu
He is a real master.

Mamori-mi

Husegi-mi

Macgoshi

Mune-no-tou

Old style from Sengoku Era. There is a story that Hayashizaki Jinsuke avenge his father.
The enemy has never thought that he can draw such long sword at close range.
It's said that Hayashizaki Jinsuke has been learning TSKSR before.
Then he established his own sword art.
I think TSKSR's Iai and JMHR is similar to each other.
So they are different from any other iai schools.

OHIR

Kodachi

Kodachi requires very high skills at Itto ryu.
Only a few pupils can use real Kodachi also other schools.
Correct eye measurement, correct decision to step into close range.

Gokui Goten below except 1st Myo Ken.

2 Zetsu Myo Ken

3 Shin Ken

4 Kinshi Chou Ou Ken

5 Doc Myo Ken

OHIR's Goten will shows how swords works when they smash it, what happens on impact.

Many audience coming along, from over seas too.
This event is dedication and promotion.
I don't think that promotion is successful.
Almost Japanese people has never interested in Traditional Martial Arts.
Only Iaido is popular with some Samurai manias and swords manias.
Lately, Japanese traditional Martial arts school's branch is multiplying in a foreign country only.
I'm afraid of it will be overproduction of inferior articles. I have seen many unskilled pupils who call themselves INSTRUCTOR and teaching something wrong in foreign country.
